The end of the semester is finally coming to an end with my last exam paper due in two days. However, my mind was been thoroughly distracted, not by the thoughts of studying for my paper, but about how my life has turned out to be.
And I have my past to be thankful for that.
I do believe that things happen for a reason. The reason is simple - it shapes you to be the person you are today. My childhood was miles away from fantastic - high school years were pretty challenging (hey, it’s high school anyway). You would think college life would be much better but not for me, as history had repeated itself for me. If I were to be more dramatic about it - the world was suddenly crumbling down on me.
However, it became much easier to deal with things even when “history repeated itself” - because you already have certain expectations about the matter.
To put my two cents for you, do not fret over how life turns out for you - as traumatising and tough it may get, you would only grow stronger if you choose to be, in fact, stronger. Also, to cherish your close family and friends bond, as those loyal and strong relationships are rare these days. If you proclaim yourself to be a good friend, keep it that way and do not too self-involved about your friendship. A dysfunctional and broken family does exist, there is no denying that - but they are still, as a matter of fact, your family.
Like I said before, those words are my two cents - spoken from experience.
